Fins Slap Pats
Nothing is better than beating a division rival unless that division rival is undefeated.

Running over the Pats who were 5-0, is exactly what our franchise needed after losing a close game to the Cowboys last week.

We now sit 3-0 against our div rivals and only one game behind the Pats.

History shows that usually Miami/New England games are usually shoot outs and this one was no different.

Ronnie Brown on the ground with 155 yards at a staggering 9.18 average and Brandon Marshall with 232 yards sparked our offense which has been very touch and go this season.

There is lots still to play for and the season is long but this victory sure does taste just that little bit better.

Fins Going OK
After 3 weeks we sit 2-1 after beating the Jets in weeks 1 & 3 and losing to the Ravens in week 2.

QB Chad Henne needs to improve his performance if we are to reach the lofty heights of last season. And our offense would again appear to be our achilles heal.

If Henne falters then Matt Leinhart may get a shot at starting for us.

Our young defense is still growing and has plenty of depth and talent across the board.

Rookie 1st round pick Safety Germane Baker has settled into his starting role well, whilst another young safety Chris Clemons bides his time behind veteran Ken Hamlin.

Our young lbers have stepped up and their improvement has been significant.

2 Safeties in 2 Rounds !!!!
With picks 1.29 & 2.29 the Dolphins drafted two strong safeties in Germane Baker & Johnny Mitchell.

But before fans get too carried away, the Fins scouting staff have advised that Johnny Mitchell over training camp will be moved to CB.

Fins draft:

1.29 SS Germane Baker - Apart from his stength has no standout abilities and Miami staff were high FS Kyle Nelson, but thought he would take too much time to develop at SS.

2.29 SS Johnny Mitchell - will be moved to CB during training camp and given a season or two to develop, behind a very young and talented Dolphins CB tandem in Smith & Davis.

3.12 MLB John Jackson
- Ironically we gained this pick when trading MLB Crowder. Jackson could see some playing time as the Fins play a 3-4. Similar to SS Baker, solid attributes without being spectacular.

3.29 LE Aaron Warfield - intriguing prospect at a position of depth for the Dolphins. We sit behind Starks and hone his skills.

Hoodoo
In all his years as a GM, Miami's current general manager is 0-4 in conference games.

Its been quite awhile since he has been this far, but in all 4 previous games his squad has always been left wanting at games end.

The Dolphins have played some dogged football in the playoffs so far, especially our defense which really won the game for us against the Texans.

With both our starting safeties out injured for the first two playoffs games, this week against the Chargers Ken Hamlin gets welcomed back into the starting line up.

Excitment is building.

Are We That Good ?????
In a one word answer - NO.

At 7-1 we have on e of the best records in the league, and whilst it is a record far better than I had hoped for when the season started, I still believe we are masking several deficient areas and are lucky to be winning.

Our defense seems to have lost some of its mojo as we have given up 24, 31, 20 & 24 points in the last month.

Our loss to the Pack I feel highllighted just where we are at.

On a bright note:

Our roster is young and should improve. Fortunately for us we have youth at some of the more vital positions on the field, namely QB & CB.

Our division is one of the worst in the league and whilst the Bills & Jets are trying to opem their window of opportunity the Pats are trying to keep it open befor eit slams shut on an aging roster.
