1.1 Panthers OLB Merton Carson - No doubt a major talent, but neither Moore or 4th round draftee Ogden are the answer at QB and Irving was a QB they could have built around. Grade C
1.2 Vikings MLB Hugh Harmon - Hard to argue with the reigning Super Bowl champs, but I also think the Vikings could have looked at CB Bender here and addressed MLB later. GM Breckheimer is hoping he has the next Urlacher.Grade B
1.3 Titans QB Kendall Irving - Titans GM Brown can't believe his luck as Irving drops to 1.3. Whilst he isn't the most talented player in the draft he is the best available at the toughest position to fill. Grade B+
1.4 Seahawks OLB Curtis Hudson - I really had WR Cameron Shaw pencilled in here for the Hawks, but GM Smith, whilst not whiffing on the pick, may have been able to feel this need later, with maybe a lesser talented player. Grade B
1.5 Bills TE Danny Henderson - An outstanding talent, but not worth this spot, Bills could have traded down and still drafted Henderson mid - late round. Grade D
1.6 Rams DT Anthony Walker - On the smallish side and his some good attributes, but I would have thought there were more important holes to fill. Grade C
1.7 Broncos MLB Moe Jackson- Rumoured to be high on DT Walker who was taken at 1.6, Jackson could be as good as Harmon in the coming years. Grade B+
1.8 Broncos DE Terry Bailey - Broncos continue to upgrade the defense and land an outstanding talent in Bailey. Could be GFL sack leader in a few seasons. Grade A
1.9 Bengals LE Adron Bronson - The complete opposite to Bailey taken at 1.8. Bronson is smaller than some linebackers in the league, but could excel in a 4-3. Grade B-
1.10 Colts LE Dennis Ricks - Completes the trifecta of DE's taken and interestingly enough is in between the previous two rookies. How all 3 stack up over the coming seasons will be closely monitored by GMs around the league. Grade B
1.11 Browns FS Omar Mann - Great pick, Mann was a player I had really hoped would drop to 1.29, but the Browns get a quality player here, who has excellent physical attributes. Grade B+
1.12 Texans CB Braylon Bender - I would imagine GM Barrett is still kicking himself that Bender drop to this spot. 6`2 with excellent strength, this guy just adds to a very potent Texans defense.Grade A
1.13 Packers WR Cameron Shaw - Big wideout that GM Ryabin coverts, will turn out to be one of the steal of the draft, as these type of players thrive in Ryabins system. Grade A
1.14 Raiders OG Koren Mitchell - Best offensive guard available in the draft. Has all the attributes to be a 10 year player. Grade A
1.15 Jaguars OG Torry Kirby - Not too far behind Mitchell. Grade B+
1.16 Eagles CB Dantonio Carter - In a shallow CB class, Carter will be given plenty of game time to prove his worth. Grade B.
1.17 Chiefs HB Peter Hudson - all purpose threat in a similar vein to the Vikings McCluster. Grade B+
1.18 Redskins QB Joseph Hartley - Has a bright future if the Skins are patient, may take a little longer than Irving to come out but has the grounding. Grade B-
1.19 49ers WR Ivan Fulcher - Good all round target who was decent value here. Grade B
1.20 Cowboys LT Tyrone O'Neal - 1st tackle taken and will be around for a long time. Grade B
1.21 Jets LT Calvin Sheth - Some major question marks physically surround Sheth, not the most athletic tackle and could have been had in round 2. Grade C
1.22 Saints CB Courtney Hanson - Not ideal size for a CB, but has speed to burn, maybe a better NCB. Grade C
1.23 Texans WR Marvin Young - Very similar to Fulcher and is the 2nd of two quality Texan picks in the 1st. Grade B
1.24 Cardinals HB Xavier Schultz - Considered by many to be the best HB in the draft, big body with excellent strength. Grade B+
1.25 Raiders C Will Figgins - the same GM who canned the Pouncey pick around this spot last year drafts a center. Grade C+
1.26 Steelers - missed pick.
1.27 Giants OLB Richard Hendley - Nothing special attribute wise but will be servicable for the Giants. Grade C+
1.28 Raiders OLB Josh Jordan - Well rounded prospect who could see playing time from week 1. Grade B
1.29 Fins SS Germane Baker - no comment.
1.30 Packers FS Kyle Wilson - Quality pick and another player who will thrive for the Packers. Grade A.
1.31 Texans C Scott Caudle - If he builds up his strength could start in a season or two. Grade B.
1.32 Bucs - missed pick.
